Declutter

💕Things That Bring You Joy💕

Keep things that bring you joy.

Today’s topic: hoarding, material items, over spending and still having a feeling of lack.

The more items you have in your home the more things you need to clean, dust, maintain and organize. The more items you have the more space you need to store the items.

Take a look around your house and think of each item; does it bring you joy, have you looked at that item in the past week or even month? Have you used that kitchen thing yet this year? How many t-shirts do you really need hanging up in your closet? These are some thought processes to think about when decluttering your home.

A cluttered home can make you feel overwhelmed, anxious and stressed. Now is the best time to take action and declutter your home. Donate items to goodwill or neighbors that are in need of certain items. It feels good to give back to those in need. I recommend putting a box aside for giveaways and holding onto that box for about 1 week before actually giving the items away. You don’t want to feel overzealous and throw a bunch of things in there that truly give you joy and all of a sudden 2 days later you freak out because you no longer have your favorite outfit to wear that makes you feel comfortable and cozy. Give it thought; each item, can you part with it, is it worth it to keep, is it just laying around collecting dust?

Keep the items that truly make you happy and when you purchase items make sure that they are purchased with intention and have value.

Pictured: are some things I absolutely love 💕 that were gifts from friends. When I look at these items they bring me joy and I smile because I think of the people who gave them to me. 💕

Happy Wednesday!!
