We all want to be heard and valued.  We don’t want to be silenced, ignored, brushed off or pushed aside.

Moods do change especially with situations or circumstances but if we can try our best to value what we hear, who we are with and listen with compassion you’ll notice that people open up more, are more trusting and can be themselves.

Today I encourage you to listen with your full attention. When someone is talking; put your phone away, look them in the eyes, acknowledge what they are saying with a reply and let them know that what they have to say is important.

Communication brings us together.  With electronic devices being such a distraction sometimes it’s hard for us to fully pay attention to someone.  I encourage you to practice this every day and it’ll get easier.

Especially on the weekends when you are with friends or family…appreciate what people have to say. Just as you would like others to appreciate and value what you have to say.
