GO WITH THE FLOW

GO WITH THE FLOW

Are you wanting to control everything in your life?  Are you disappointed when something doesn’t go your way?

When we have control over something we feel we can guide the situation or even person into the mold of what we want so we are happy.  If we can trust that the universe is providing us with everything we need, trust that people are doing the best, release the expectations we hold on ourselves and on others we can flow through life with more grace and ease.

What happens when there’s a painful situation? We tend to run away from it because we are avoiding the pain. We don’t want to be uncomfortable or in an unpleasant situation. We are trying to control every turn that life is taking when we do so. Constantly fighting against life and resisting it will be a stressful battle.

The more we insist on being in control the less happy we will be.

In some ways control is good: controlling our eating habits, to a certain point our schedules, how far we push ourselves in exercise, etc. These are examples when control is good; we take the initiative to make healthy choices, we go to work in stead of lounging around watching tv all day, we go to the workout class for better health and push ourselves past the limit we want to for a challenge.

On the other side where control is no longer allowing us to flow through life with ease; is when we try to control other people, needing to constantly intervene at work and micro-manage, avoiding life experiences because of uncertainty, etc.  This is when the control becomes unhealthy.

Allow others to live life the way they choose to.  We can hopefully inspire and motivate others to make healthy choices and yes of course when we see someone that is harming themselves we can chime in and offer guidance but we aren’t here to force everything into our way.

The need to control everything will create constant stress in your life.

Release the judgments and expectations you set on life. Release the need to control everything. Ride life out like waves in the ocean. If you get knocked down and it’s painful just get right back up again. Life isn’t always perfect in the way we want to design it. It’s perfect in the way the universe is unfolding it.

Learn to let go and be free. It might be unsettling at first because you don’t know what will happen but that is a part of life. Everything is uncertain.

Letting go allows yourself to be free. Free to flow. Free to experience everything and not just what you think is best.

You can be more present in the now moment when you let go of control. You are no longer worried about what will happen instead you are able to enjoy the moment as it is without changing it.

Go with the flow.
