🍌Banana Orange Smoothie Recipe🍊
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 banana (peeled)
1 orange (peeled and seeded)
1 drop ✨DoTerra Wild Orange Essential Oil (optional)
1 scoop vanilla protein powderâ €
▶️Add all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth (about 50 seconds in @Blendtec). Enjoy! ⠀
👉🏻When using essential oils in food make sure it is a good grade oil or digestible and only add a small amount. 1 drop is plenty in this smoothie.
👉🏻If you want a sweeter smoothie:
Add 1 date, 1 Tablespoon of honey, sprinkle of stevia or monk fruit or sweetener of choice. Be mindful of how much sugar you are having.
👉🏻If you want to add more healthy fats: add 1/4 of an avocado. This will also make the smoothie thicker. You can also make your smoothie thicker with 1 Tablespoon if chia seeds or flax seeds. They can be blended for the full 50 seconds as well.
👉🏻If you want a thinner smoothie add more milk or water.
👉🏻Optional add ins: 1 scoop of superfood or green powder, 1 cup of spinach, kale or parsley.
👉🏻Want more quick energy/carbs: add 1 Tablespoon or up to 1/4 cup of raw rolled oats.
👉🏻Want to use another fresh orange instead of the essential oil? Keep in mind the sugar content will go up; peel and seed 1 more orange and add to the smoothie. 2 oranges definitely make it have more flavor. You can also use 1/2 cup of orange juice for a similar taste.
What’s great about using food grade essential oils to smoothies and food; you don’t get the extra calories or sugar content but you get the taste, aroma and benefits that are packed into the oil itself.
