Upward Facing Dog

✨Upward Facing Dog✨⠀

Aka Urdhva Mukha Svanasana. ⠀

Part of the 12 pose series of Surya Namaskar A, sun salutations.  This pose opens and strengthens the entire body, especially opening the upper body.  Letting your heart shine.  ✨⠀

Press down through your palms and feel the lift of energy through your forearms.  Your shoulders are drawing down your back and away from your ears.  Your legs are active; pressing the tops of your feet down into the earth while strengthening and lifting your legs up and off the ground. Your knees are lifted, quadriceps, hips and pelvis are lifted up off the ground.  This is an active pose for the entire body.⠀

Allow your heart to be open, embracing love, compassion and kindness.⠀

💚Affirmations for the heart (Anahata) chakra:💚⠀
