🥛ALMOND MILK RECIPE 🥛 ⠀

1 cup raw almonds⠀

3 cups COLD water⠀

Pinch of salt⠀

1️⃣Add all ingredients to your BLENDTEC blender.⠀

Blend on the highest setting for 90-120 seconds.⠀

2️⃣Put the nut milk bag inside a large bowl and pour the blended mixture into the nut milk bag.  Squeeze the pulp so the milk strains into the bowl.  You can use the pulp for recipes later by storing it in the fridge to use within the next 2-3 days or freezer to stay fresher longer.  Or just throw it in the compost.⠀

3️⃣ENJOY!⠀

👉🏻The homemade almond milk will only stay good for 3-4 days in the fridge because it doesn’t have any preservatives.  This is why I make small batches so I don’t waste it.⠀

😋You can make it sweet by putting in 1 or 2 pitted dates or 1 Tablespoon honey or maple syrup.  You can also add 1/4-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract for a vanilla flavor.  If you want to make chocolate almond milk add cacao powder and sweetener of choice.⠀

👉🏻Supplies you need to make the almond milk:⠀

🙌🏻Blender (preferably a Blendtec or Vitamix or something similar)⠀

👍🏻Nut milk bag (to strain out the pulp)⠀

🥜Raw almonds (not roasted or sweetened)⠀

😁Pink Himalayan salt⠀

🍯Dates, maple syrup or honey as optional sweeteners⠀

🥣Large Bowl for straining the pulp. ⠀

I buy either the sprouted or raw organic almonds in the bulk section at my local grocery store (Whole Foods usually).  You can buy almonds online too if it’s not available at your local grocery store.  Here’s a link to an online store I have purchased from in the past: www.Nuts.com for Raw Almonds.⠀

The nut milk bags can be hard to find in a local store.  Buying them online will be much easier.  I have tried a few different types of milk bags.  As much as I would like to use the all natural cloth ones sometimes when I squeeze the pulp it tends to squeeze through the holes.  Currently I use Ellie’s Best Nut Milk Bag available on Amazon.⠀

Let me know if you try this recipe!⠀

Enjoy!🥛⠀
