Golden Milk

☀️ Golden Milk 🥛

Sip on some delicious and nutritious golden milk to reduce inflammation and cholesterol, detox the body, boost the immune system and balance and aid in digestion. These are just a few amazing benefits of drinking golden milk / using turmeric and ginger in the kitchen. They are magical for the body! I blended fresh turmeric root, fresh ginger root and homemade coconut milk with a few dates to make this golden milk beverage. You can use any sweetener of choice or none at all.

What’s great about golden milk is the recipe is entirely up to you: You can use as much milk or as little as you want depending on how thick you want it, you can add 1/2” thick fresh root of each or 1” each depending on how strong of a taste you want and for sweetener you can add dates, maple syrup, honey, stevia or nothing at all. Plus you can add additional spices too: vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, etc.

Here’s a base recipe but change it to your liking:
1.5 cups milk (I used homemade coconut  milk)⠀
1 cup water
1” piece of fresh turmeric root⠀
2” piece of fresh ginger root⠀
2 dates (pits removed)⠀
Dash of black pepper (helps absorption of turmeric)⠀
Spices or vanilla for extra flavoring ⠀

Blend in a Blendtec Blender for 2-3 minutes. This warms it up and blends all the stringy bits of the roots so it comes out nice and smooth. Store in the fridge and drink cold or warm.
